2026 FPGEE applicants: Can we ask NABP together to extend the Sept. 1 purchase deadline?
I know a lot of us are still waiting for our FPGEC applications to be reviewed even though our documents were submitted months ago.
One thing I think is important: when FPGEE registration opened in May, the published FPGEC Bulletin said the evaluation process would take approximately 8 weeks. The July 2026 Bulletin changed that estimate to approximately 12 weeks, effective July 14.
Now many people whose complete documents were received in early June or even earlier may miss the deadline simply because their evaluation has not been completed. Since the FPGEE is only offered once a year, being delayed by a week or two can mean waiting an entire year.
What also makes the September 1 deadline hard to understand is that:
- September 1: deadline to purchase the FPGEE
- September 15: deadline for name changes
- October 8: deadline to schedule or cancel the Pearson appointment
- October 15: exam day
So why not allow applicants who are approved after September 1 to purchase the exam until September 15 or September 21, while keeping the October 8 scheduling deadline and October 15 exam date exactly the same?
We are not asking NABP to change the eligibility requirements, move the exam, or let unapproved applicants register. We are only asking for a little more time for people whose evaluations are delayed.
And if being approved later means fewer testing locations are available, I think many of us would gladly accept that risk instead of automatically losing another year.
I don't think one or two emails will make much difference. But if 50, 100, or more affected applicants send the same reasonable request, maybe NABP will reconsider the deadline.
If you are still waiting for your evaluation, please email FP@nabp.pharmacy. I included a short template below that you can copy and personalize.
Please upvote and share this with other 2026 FPGEE applicants. There is still time for NABP to make this small change.
Here is an email template you can use to send email about this to NABP.
Dear FPGEC Team,
I am writing to ask NABP to consider extending the September 1 deadline to purchase the 2026 FPGEE for applicants whose FPGEC evaluations are still pending.
My required documents were received on [DATE], and my application is still under review.
When FPGEE registration opened in May, the published FPGEC Bulletin stated that the evaluation process would take approximately 8 weeks. The July 2026 Bulletin later changed that estimate to approximately 12 weeks. By then, many applicants had already submitted their documents based on the earlier timeline and had no opportunity to adjust their submission timing.
Because the FPGEE is offered only once a year, an evaluation delay of even a few weeks may now cause otherwise eligible applicants to wait another full year.
Would NABP consider allowing applicants who are approved after September 1 to purchase the exam until September 15 or September 21, while keeping the October 8 scheduling deadline and October 15 exam date unchanged?
We understand that testing locations may be more limited for candidates approved later, and many of us would be willing to accept that risk rather than lose the opportunity to take the exam this year.
Thank you for considering this request.
Best,
