Background timelines while military

Hey everyone! I have a question about the background timeline and also any advice given for my situation is appreciated.

I applied to a WA state agency in December while I was still AD military. Took my written and physical virtually in April while I was still stationed in CA. Completed eSOPH at the end of April and contacted by my background investigator at the beginning of May. All my references and coworkers have been contacted as well as family members. Haven't completed the polygraph, medical or psych yet.

I transitioned to the reserves after AD and my unit is asking if I would like to go on extended active duty orders while I wait. Orders would be able to be cancelled in the future if I received an academy date. Work schedule will be mon through friday 0800 to 1500.

My question is do you guys think I should hold off on accepting EAD orders to make myself fully available for appointments or if this is still early in the process just accept the orders due to a lot of down time waiting? Extended active duty orders would be for 3 months. Wondering if thats a normal background investigation waiting time.

I am committed to this process and really want the job but I also want to contribute financially to my family while I wait. Its a weird feeling being a stay at home parent with the kids while my spouse works when for the past decade its been myself at work haha.

Thank you everyone in advance for any advice and stay safe!
