Spent weeks trying to find decent LED handrail options, we ended up going with a handrail with a LED light strip integrated with it and we are very happy with it, so sharing this here in case it helps someone.
We wanted something that looked modern and sleek, ideally with motion sensors so it's convenient when you walk up the stairs with your hands full, especially during the evening. Most of the options we found were either not customizable or the design was not sleek enough.
Ended up ordering from FoxChase Handrail after comparing a bunch of options. Honestly was a little nervous since ordering something like this online is always a gamble, but it turned out better than expected.
A few things that we really like:
- The flowing light feature is very cool. We've never seen something like this before. Basically, every time we walk up the stairs the light flows up, and same thing when you walk down, it flows down with you.
- The build quality was solid and heavy-duty. It's made with metal so feels like it can carry a lot of weight.
- I used to DIY the led light strip myself and you just stick the LED strips underneath the rail, which ends up looking a bit messy. But this one actually has a proper cover under the handrail, so the light is diffused and everything looks much more built-in and finished.
- Our kids absolutely LOVE it. They talked to their friends and invited their friends over just to see it.
Installation took some planning if you’re not familiar with electrical work. We did hire a licensed electrician who took care of all that.
If anyone is researching stair lighting or LED railings, hopefully this helps.
