Building Something Useful for Umrah Pilgrims

Hi everyone, I’m a Tech Lead with some great contacts in Singapore, Vietnam, and a few African countries. I’m looking for ideas around the daily problems Umrah visitors face—problems that we could solve as a team through technology.

The goal isn’t to make huge amounts of money. We simply want to build something genuinely useful that can generate a fair income for the service we provide, while also allowing each of us to travel to the Haram more frequently or support others in being able to go and perform their Ibadah.

What do you think? What problems have you personally faced during Umrah that you think could be solved through a service or app?

Built an app that lets you chat with other passengers on your flight — no wifi, no server, fully offline (Bluetooth)

I travel a lot and always wondered who else was on my flight — bored in the terminal, curious about the person next to me, etc. So I built AirConnect: you join your flight (manual entry or scan your boarding pass), and it finds other nearby travelers on the same flight over Bluetooth. No account, no internet, no server — messages exist only on your phone, end-to-end encrypted device-to-device.

It’s very early (v0.0.1, just started beta), so there’s a lot still rough around the edges. BLE discovery can take a few seconds, and right now it’s Android only.

Would love feedback from anyone willing to try it on an upcoming flight, or even just poke around the UX. Also happy to answer questions about how the offline Bluetooth matching works if anyone’s curious about the technical side.
