Basically got hired by a non-IT company to do Ai Transformation work(Ax). It's a small company with around 25 people, but generates decent income due to selling unique specialized digital contents.
I'm basically the only person in the company who was a software engineer(2 yoe) and who knows what a "programming" is. So I mostly talked with the CEO about integrating AI and software into the company. So he wants me to use AI and shit to make the company "Digital".
So he basically created bunch of vibe coded softwares that does a little bit of this and that for personal use, but isn't pollished enough to be an internal use company wide software. So he wants me to polish those.
I mean I'm not gonna lie, I have no idea what I'm even supposed to do now. First day of my job I just ask him for ALL of the company data and he just gives me, I review everything, use gpt to summarize things, pinpoint some problems and generate a month worth plan, showed him and he just agrees to everything...
I did plan to fix a vibe coded app that will be used for internal editing tool, but like there is already a good amount SaaS that does that but it is kinda pricey so I guess I'm making them one for free?(In the expense of my salary cost?)
Also planned a long term plan to make a knowledge base + retrieval system for company data so employees will stop using google sheet and whatsapp to share everything?
Like I don't know if this is the right thing tbh. I feel like I'm just hired as a tech wizard who will build shit for non-tech people. Feels like a Solution engineer but in a totally unknown field. Anyone in a similar position? A tip would be nice.
