Three nights ago my pup brought me a friend, a dwarf American toad. Looks healthy, plump. Had some food, soaked and has been chilling on top of his cave.

Now that I know it is well I want to return it to the exact spot it was picked up at but I do worry about the nighttime temps. Are these safe temps to release? I have searched online but not getting answers that I trust so I'm coming to the experts!

I keep different tree frog species and a pacman, so I'm not totally oblivious to care (I still researched a ton in case it would remain here if needed). If the temps are too low how long can it stay with me before it is not allowed to be released? I'm in Missouri.

It has not been in contact with any other animal, all of its substrate, wood, etc, are fresh so there has been no cross contamination.

I'm prepared to keep it if needed, but I think he'd be happier outside.

Thank you! Picture of the temperatures coming up.
