Most and Least Favorite Melanie album?
I’m gonna have to go with crybaby for MOST. My runner up is portals. Crybaby is not just my favorite Melanie album but probably one of my favorite debut albums of all time. It’s peak lyricism and excellent sonic innovation. It was so much different than anything else that was out around the time and she really made her own spot on the music industry during that album cycle. Nothing will replace the nostalgia I feel looking back to every video release, each being a masterpiece of its own. Not even to mention its cultural impact, perfume release, tour, etc.
For my least I’m gonna have to go with Hades, just because it simply isn’t very listenable in my opinion. The music is not bad in any means, but a lot of the songs are kinda not easy listening and aren’t vibey enough to do what I want music to for me at the times I listen to it. But there are still some great tracks. Monolith is beautiful, I liked possession a lot more than everyone else seemed to, and i also wasn’t a Disney princess hater. I think it’s a fun song!
