Any local AI app with good prompt presets or saved workflows?

I keep rewriting the same prompts for local AI, which gets old pretty fast.

Things like rewriting text in a certain style, summarizing long notes, extracting action items, cleaning up transcripts, or turning rough ideas into something more organized.

I tried Msty for this and liked that it has some workflow-style features, but I’m still looking for something that makes repeat prompts feel smoother.

What local AI app are you using for saved prompts or reusable workflows?

Bonus if it lets you organize presets by use case instead of keeping everything in one long list.

Has anyone built a local AI workflow around Obsidian or markdown notes?

I use Obsidian for most of my notes, and since everything is already in markdown, it feels like it should work well with local AI tools.

Main things I’d want are searching across notes, asking questions about old notes, summarizing folders, finding related ideas, and maybe drafting from existing notes without sending everything to a cloud app.

I’ve tried a basic AnythingLLM setup with a markdown folder, but I’m still figuring out if it’s reliable enough for daily use.

If you’ve done this, what does your setup look like? What app or model are you using, and how do you keep it updated as your notes change?

Is anyone using local AI in a real business workflow?

Most of the local AI stuff I see is personal use, so I’m curious how people are using it at work.

Not experiments or benchmarks, but actual workflows where it saves time.

For example, searching internal docs, summarizing PDFs, drafting replies, cleaning up meeting notes, processing invoices, or working with customer data that can’t be sent to random cloud tools.

If you’re using local AI in a real business workflow, what does the setup look like? And is it reliable enough that your team actually keeps using it?

Can you run local AI well without a powerful GPU?

I’m on a normal laptop, so I’m trying to figure out what’s realistic before I spend a bunch of time setting things up.

I’d mainly use it for chat, summarizing notes, working with PDFs, and maybe some light coding help. Not trying to train models or do anything crazy.

For people running local AI without a powerful GPU, what setup are you using? And does it feel usable day to day?

Share your 2026 local AI setup

My local AI setup is still pretty simple, but it’s finally useful enough that I’m using it regularly.

Right now I’m running LM Studio for most local chat stuff, especially when I want to quickly test different models without messing with config files. I also use AnythingLLM for chatting with my own docs, mostly PDFs and notes.

For coding, I’m still mostly using paid tools, but I’ve been testing Continue with local models to see how far I can push it.

Curious what everyone else’s 2026 local AI setup looks like.

What app are you using, what models are you running, and what do you actually use it for day to day?
