Healing/Uplifting Fiction With Happy Endings

Hey guys,

I inadvertently discovered that some of the 'healing fiction' I was so excited to read as a relief from the sadness and struggle of daily life has really sad endings (like We Will Prescribe You a Cat)

Can you suggest books that are in that "slice of life"/"not much happens" genre but have happy, uplifting endings? I'd also like to avoid excessive trauma in the beginning/end but it's OK if hard things happen, as long as it's not dwelt upon too long.

Updated to add: light romance is OK but I don't like super sexual or "smut" type books. 😄

Thanks!

Caught off guard by sad ending in healing fiction!

When I found the genre of "healing fiction", which generally seem to come from Japan, I was delighted. Life is already hard enough, the idea of reading gentle, uplifting fiction was a perfect fit for me.

I just finished We'll Prescribe You a Cat and my HEART IS BROKEN! What the heck is with the super sad ending? Now I don't trust any of the other healing fiction books on my list!

Can anyone confirm that other books in this genre (Convenience Store by the Sea, Healing Hippo, Days at the Morisaki Bookshop, Vanishing Cherry Blossom Bookshop, Coffee Gets Cold Series, etc) do or don't have sad endings?

I really, really want to be uplifted and not hearbroken by what I read. Please help!
