Whenever I'm studying German, I notice that when I translate the sentence literally into Portuguese without altering its structure, it sounds like Old Portuguese.
Do you feel the same way? I'll put a sentence in Portuguese so you can compare
ex:
Portuguese: Eu odeio quem faz promessas
English: i hate who does promisses (literal translation)
German: Ich hasse wer machen Versprechungen (I'm not sure if it's grammatically correct, but this is the correct structure in Portuguese)
Does this sentence seem old-fashioned? Or more poetic? How do you feel about it? let me know :]
obs: I know that things shouldn't be translated literally, I'm not asking for corrections, I'm just sharing my experience of learning another language that is completely different from my own
