I feel immense guilt for the countless castles and cities I’ve razed to the ground. The men I’ve killed, the men who I’ve ordered men to kill. They had families, homes. The guilt is overbearing. I have killed in the name of my King, in the name of conquest, in the name of the Lord and in the name of denars. I am condemned. Derthert’s war hound. War is my life. I cannot escape it, unless through death. Perhaps I shall live out my days as hermit at the Retreat upon Mount Erithys, away from war and devastation.
