My dad died in the Philippines about a month ago..
Hello all!
I was informed about a month ago that my dad passed away in the Philippines, so I had contacted the US Embassy to see if I can obtain a death certificate but after a couple weeks of searching they were not able to locate his death and/or location. His girlfriend of 20 years cremated him and only informed one family member (not any of his siblings or myself, his only next of kin) about it and their whereabouts. I‘m not sure what I can do next because I have no idea where his ashes are, but they are for sure in the Philippines.
UPDATE: I was able to submit an input to stop his benefits.
As for location of his whereabouts, I and my family have no idea where in the Philippines he is located because his girlfriend refuses to let us know. She had also told one family member to make sure I don’t find out he passed away (I am his only next of kin).
