A buddy of mine recently texted me asking to contract out some electrical work in a commercial shop he uses to work on cars and other projects. I mainly do low voltage/resi electrical and don’t mess with motors too often. He has his lifts on extension cords plugged into regular 120 20a outlets, and as the lift motor states 26a I’m assuming I should replace the 20a with 30a and 10g wire. Is the 26a continuous or is that a max which probably won’t ever be hit?
