Help With Next Steps After Acceptance Into Program
Hi everyone! I recently got accepted into a Dental Hygiene program in Cincinnati, Ohio, and I’m trying to complete all of my health requirements before August 10th. I’m feeling a little overwhelmed and was hoping people in this group might have advice, recommendations, or resources that helped them when starting school.
I currently do not have insurance, and I’m trying to find the most affordable options for:
A dental exam and restorative work (I have several cavities that need fillings completed before the deadline)
A vision exam
A general medical/physical exam
Immunizations and/or titers required for the program
I’m also concerned because I may have allergies or reactions to certain vaccines, so I’m trying to figure out:
what exemptions or alternatives are possible,
how to safely determine which vaccines I actually need,
and the most affordable clinics/doctors to go through for this process.
If anyone in the Cincinnati area has recommendations for:
low-cost dental clinics,
dental schools,
community health centers,
affordable vision places,
student-friendly insurance plans,
Medicaid options,
CareSource/Molina/Buckeye experiences,
payment plans,
or any “tips and tricks” that helped you save money before hygiene school,
I would seriously appreciate it so much.
I’m trying to get everything completed as quickly and affordably as possible before classes start. Thank you in advance for any guidance or personal experiences you can share!
