Is it normal on day 5 after a stroke to sleep a lot?

My grandpa had a hemorrhagic stroke 5 days ago. The first 3 nights he got almost no sleep because they would wake him up every hour to do a neurological checks.
On day 4 they changed the checks to every 4 hours, and he slept maybe 4 hours in a row which was the first time he did that in over 4 days!
Now it’s day 5 and he’s slept almost all last night and most of the day. The nurse told us this might be a bad sign… Wondering what other people’s experiences are with sleep after stroke and how often other people slept in the first week after.

Is this considered malpractice? Grandpa had a stroke under hospital care

My grandpa was brought to my local hospital last week because he fell and my family wanted to make sure he didn’t break any bones. After seeing the doctor they initially thought he had a heart attack which caused the fall. So they admitted him and put him on a medicine called heparin.
On Saturday when my mom visited the hospital they told her that the ekg came back normal, showing no signs of a recent heart attack and that they are unsure if he had one. But they continued the medication because his heart enzymes were a bit Elevated.
On Sunday I visited my grandpa in the hospital and saw he was on an iv antibiotic. I asked the nurse what it was for and she said that they figured out he has a pneumonia and put him on that instead. I asked if he was still on the blood thinner and she said no and would send the doctor in to talk to me.
When the doctor came in they asked my grandpa if he would like to be back on the heparin, he said I don’t know. She said it might help him, but was worried that if he fell again it might make him bleed alot. He said to ask his daughter. I asked the doctor to approve the medication with my mom because she is his advanced directive and his POA. The doctor confirmed with me that she would talk to my mom before starting the medication again.
On Monday When my mom and I went back to the hospital my grandpa was still on the heparin.
My mom asked his overseeing doctor why and she said the cardiologist ordered it because the heart enzymes are still high but showing no signs of a previous heart attack.
My mom asked them to stop the heparin because there’s no signs of heart damage and to treat pneumonia instead. When we left the hospital that night my grandpa was fine.
Tuesday morning my mom received a phone call from the nurse looking after my grandpa and was told he has a brain bleed. That he might have had a stroke.
When we arrived we were told he was given another dose of the heparin after she requested to have him taken off of it, and it caused him to have a brain bleed (they said it has a high potential for that).
He had a massive stroke and now can’t move the left side of his body and can barely talk.
My mom asked them how long did it take them to notice he had a stroke and they couldn’t confirm the exact time frame but that it had been over 3 hours since the last nurse check before they saw he had a stroke.

Wednesday we talked to the stroke specialist and they requested we put him in a rehab center to help him recover some of his strength through physical therapy. We agreed as we would like him to recover anything if possible.

Thursday (today) the case worker told us that they want him in a nursing home and that there’s no point for a rehab center and that the stroke specialist doesn’t decide where he goes but instead the case workers do.

Would any of this be considered malpractice? If so what should we do?
