How to stop my cocker from weeing on our couch?
We have a 3 year old ECS, she’s toilet trained and we take her outside for a wee every morning and then on her daily walk she will mark her territory regularly. She sleeps in the lounge room and every night before we go to bed we take her out for a wee. I know she can hold her bladder overnight.
Anyway our old couch she wee’d on a number of times to the point that we bought a new couch. In the first few months of the new couch we would block the couch off at night just to make sure she didn’t jump up. During the day if she ever tried to hop on the couch we tell her “off” so she knows she’s not supposed to be up there and will hop off.
We got to the point that we were comfortable that she knew she wasn’t supposed to be there because we’d come out in the morning and she’d be on her bed. Anyway the other morning we woke up and she’d done a wee on the couch overnight! I don’t know how to stop this behaviour and my wife and I are super frustrated because it was an expensive couch.
Does anyone have any tips on how to handle this? We really don’t want to have to block off the couch every night so I’m open to all ideas! Thanks
