(This is a very rough draft, comments and suggestions are very welcome)
Hindsight is a man’s worse friend
What should have been but never did
The things that shouldn’t have come to pass
The things that follow you to death.
The things you would go back and fix
The plans that didn’t end in bliss
The signs that you walked right by
All now highlighted back in time.
All the stupid decisions you made
Haunting you both night and day
When hindsight comes along your way
To point out your mistakes
All those long apologies
You practice in your head
Speeches never said out loud
All belong to him.
Hindsight is a man’s worst mate
and best paired with regret
A nice strong swig of shameful
to land him face first in the grass
