Hey, I’m 16 (turning 17 in January) and a sophomore right now.
I’m gonna be honest, school isn’t going great for me. I’m failing geometry and biology and barely getting C’s and D’s in my other classes. College honestly doesn’t feel like an option for me, mostly because of money and my grades.
I’ve been thinking a lot about joining the military, specifically the Navy or the Air Force, but I don’t really know which one would be better for me.
I’ve always liked technology and messing with tech stuff since I was a kid, and I also really like jets and planes. The idea of working around aircraft or even being on a ship sounds really interesting to me too.
Right now I just feel kinda stuck and want a way forward because high school isn’t going great and I don’t know what else to do.
So I guess I’m asking:
- Between the Navy and Air Force, which is better for tech jobs or working around aircraft?
- Do my grades right now mess up my chances of joining?
- What should I be doing now if I want to go this route?
- Is this even a good idea in my situation?
I’m just trying to figure out what to do with my future at this point.
