But would you do that to your kid

Nothing drives me mor insane than when I read comments under someone who rehomed their pets for change of circumstance or whatever reason and people are like but would you do that to your kid? Like are you out of your mind comparing a damn pet to a kid? Humanizing pets has been way too normalized its out of hands to the point where people laugh or don’t take any offense to people that say I don’t like kids but the minute someone says I hate cats the comments are flooded defending cat or the pet even after it did something outrageous like scratch or hurt someone!! Like people are not allowed to say they don’t like a pet without an army of people coming for them!!

I want to be pet free I am so over it i want to be petfree

I can’t stand pets after having a child, after having a baby I didn’t realize how much I would hate having cats, i feel like my husband has kinda pushed it on me to have 2 cats I talked about liking cats so we ended up getting one than he comes home with another one day and I had to just go along with (before baby) fast forward two years I get pregnant one of the cats keeps having litter issues ( the cat he brought home) and we try few things we make it work he mostly uses the litter box, after having a baby I couldn’t standdd the cats they keep scratching at the door their hair is everywhere it drives me insane it feels like the house is flithy no matter how much I clean I am already overwhelmed with my child, I see them as another task and responsibility that I don’t want and I feel horrible and guilty about it because its not their fault, I have talked to my husband about how I feel but he keeps saying its not fair to him to rehome them and he doesn’t want to, we have bought a gate so they don’t come scratch at the door so they stay in the living room but I truly hate cleaning after and their hair and that damn gate too. i dream of a life of not having to clean after them and not have a gate and having my baby freely crawl on the floor and no hair on furniture and no scratching, i think my life would be soo easy without them I can have my baby use the space freely without worrying about them I feel like these pets run the place sometimes and everything evolves around them I hide her high chair in the room so they don’t just jump over it, constantly have to go through the stupid gate and keeping her playpen in a separate room.
