Drill Music in Zion is a crazy album
I am new to Lupe Fiasco. I've only been listening to him officially for about 2 months, but already he is my favourite rapper ever, and I think he is in my top 3 conversation with Nas and Eminem. I was so amazed by how good he is. Most of the rappers are good at one thing most of the times. But with Lupe he can pretty much do anything. Probably the best writer I have seen in any genre (on par with Bob Dylan and Black, though) has crazy flows like JID or biggie, has an amazing ear for production (most of the time) like Drake, and has very complex wordplay and technical writing like Eminem.
So beside the point I was mostly amazed with 6 of his albums, Drill Music in Zion being one of them. I've been listening to it a while, and I think it is a top 10 hip-hop album in the decade so far. But the crazy thing is this album has fewer than 30 million streams, and pretty much nobody talks about this or especially puts it into all-time greats in this decade so far.
Even on a song like AUTOBOTO, I only didn't like that chorus. Apart from that, he has a crazy flow state. And don't get me started on songs like the title track, Ms Murals, Precious Things, and the outro.
How do you guys feel? I would like to get some thoughts from older fans. You guys are on the same page as me?
