How long does a big scab beside mouth take to heal?

I’m on 20mg for 3 weeks now and my skin is paper thin. I went through the big cystic purge the first 1-2 weeks and now it’s just little white heads.

I had two big white heads beside my mouth which eventually turned into one huge one. After 3 days it dried up and was super crusty and solid so I thought I could flake it off but instead I ended up ripping off my skin too.

Im really stupid I know. I put a pimple patch and gonna avoid putting makeup on for a while but was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with scabs on Accutane? I don’t care if it leaves a scar I can cover that with makeup but my main concern is closing the wound. Do you think a week would suffice? It’s gonna be humiliating wearing this to the office.

Accutane giving me inflammation

I’ve been on accutane 20mg (F23 115lbs) for 2.5 weeks now and my skin has been purging like I anticipated however now I wake up with inflammation and lesions I wanted to ask is this normal? The inflammation is around my mouth and spreading I’m afraid I’m reacting to the medicine?

Has this occurred to anyone else?

I’m seeing my derm today and hoping an oral steroid will help but the inflammation is just really discouraging.

How to handle acne at work, school, relationship, etc..

Day 11 taking 20mg (F23, 120lbs) and the purge is horrible. My skin cleared up at first (it was kinda severe) and i was shocked how fast it was working up until day 5. Now ive been going through the most ugly purge of my life. I take a histamine that my doctor proscribed and eating healthy but my mental health is so bad.

I struggle seeing my partner because I’m embarrassed, I struggle going to the office and very quiet at work and avoid eye contact. I keep trying to work from home but I can tell my manager is upset with me for requesting working from home. I stopped seeing my friends and just wanna stay home all the time.

For people who currently have really bad acne and going through the purge how do you deal with this feeling?

Accutane Progress 6 days

Just wanted to share my progress, if anyone has had acne similar to mine? (Ignore the white flakes that’s from lotion) I’m on 20mg (F23, 120lbs) and had the worst painful cystic acne from tretinoin and sun damage. This is 6 days now and I’ve made some progress with the cysts. It was clearing fast 4 days in and now I’m experiencing a slight purge.

I still have trouble with eye contact and going to events and work. I really hope this can clear by the end of the month. I really hate acne.

Hi everyone I just started accutane I’m on day 5. My dosage is 20mg (F23, 120lbs, 5’5ft). I got cystic acne from tretinoin and it really damaged my face and the accutane has helped but now my jawline is having a stinging sensation. It’s like burning and hurting I’m not sure why but last time i was feeling like this I broke out in cystic acne and I’m scared the same thing happens again. Can anyone please let me know what’s happened

I’ve been using Tret for 9 weeks now and have developed cystic acne. It’s taking too long to go on accutane and was prescribed Arazlo 0.045. I wanted advice on anyone that’s made the switch doesn’t help with medium to serve acne?

My routine isn’t complicated just cleanser, sunscreen and lotion (from La Roche)

How is the purging experience transitioning and how long has yours lasted? Should I opt out of the Arazlo and wait for accutane?
