Could Elle Fanning win?

I see a narrative that Fanning who is nominated for Margo's Got Money Troubles in Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, could defeat Jean Smart if voters may want to reward someone else who has not won in the category. In the category, Fanning is the only one who hasn't gotten an Emmy for any category. Do you think Elle Fanning could win on her first try?

Keri Russell’s chances at winning for The Diplomat

Recently, we learned that Keri Russell won Best Actress in a Drama Series for The Diplomat at the 2026 Astra TV Awards. And earlier this year, she won the Actor Award for Best Female Actor in a Drama Series for that same show and role. Any possibility that the tide is turning for Russell to finally win her first Emmy on this series?

Any shows perceived as “Emmy bait”

If any one of you here are familiar with Oscar bait; a film with controversial subject matter that was destined to win Oscars. Then you are probably familiar with Emmy bait. Awards prestige for TV.

I want to know if any one of you recall times a show was perceived as Emmy bait.

Emmy for Writing for a Drama Series predictions

With the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards taking place next month, the following category of Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series features the following:

  • The Diplomat: "Amagansett" - Peter Ackerman and Debora Cahn
  • The Pitt: "1:00 P.M." - Kristen Pierre-Geyfman and R. Scott Gemmill
  • The Pitt: "12:00 P.M." - Valerie Chu
  • Pluribus: "We Is Us" - Vince Gilligan
  • Slow Horses: "Scars" - Will Smith
  • Task: "A Still Small Voice" - Brad Ingelsby

I am currently debating back and forth between Pluribus and Slow Horses to win here. But I also see The Diplomat being a dark horse here. I want to know if Pluribus or Slow Horses or even The Diplomat could win in the category. Also, I want to know if The Pitt can win an Emmy awards for directing and writing after not winning any of those categories last year.

Harrison Ford's chances of finally winning Supporting Actor for Shrinking this year.

Last year, Harrison Ford lost the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series to Jeff Hiller, even though Shrinking had strong buzz and Ford's performance was widely discussed. Although, I predicted Ike Barinholtz for The Studio, last year. With the recent season of Shrinking released and Ford still a major presence in the category, I'm wondering how realistic his chances are this September.

What are the main obstacles he faces this cycle, competition, category strength, voter tendencies, or the show's overall positioning? And conversely, what factors might help him finally break through?

Curious how people here are reading the race.
