Possible ACL injury? Knee pain but no instability

I recently injured my knee playing soccer. I felt/heard a crunch at the time of injury. Swelling was mild, and I’ve been able to bear full weight on it since then.

,I can’t bend my knee past about 90 degrees without pain, mostly in the back of the knee, and I also have aching/throbbing pain on the inner side of the knee. It has now been about 10 days since the injury. I had an X-ray and ultrasound done, which showed a mild effusion.

When I was seen at the clinic, they mentioned a suspected ACL injury and said it might require surgery, but I’m unsure because my knee doesn’t feel unstable or like it’s “giving out.”

Has anyone had a similar experience or been told ACL injury without classic instability symptoms? I am not 100% sure its my acl i just want to get back to normal walking/bending
