Hello! I recently became interested in bonsai, and I would like to know tips for zone 6a.

Which species is best for beginners in this zone, what are some tips/things you wish you would've known before purchasing your first bonsai, etc.

I would absolutely love to purchase one, but I don't plan on doing so until I've done proper research. For some context/additional information, I've been a plant owner/hobbyist for ~6 years with much success. I tend to have quite the green thumb with houseplants, vegetable gardening, herb gardening, flower gardening, etc.
