Orpheus vs the Modern Music Industry

Orpheus, legendary master of the lyre, of Greek mythological fame, descends into the underworld in search of his beloved Eurydice, that he may save her from death. Upon arriving Hades explains that while he's sympathetic to Orpheus's plight, he cannot allow Eurydice to leave. It is beyond his power, unless he assuages the fates through an impossible challenge. Orpheus does not hesitate to throw down the gauntlet and accept.

In order to resurrect Eurydice, Orpheus must travel forward in time to the 21st century, circa 2010, and release ten consecutive platinum records that hit and hold the #1 spot on the Top-100 chart for a minimum of one month each. He has a one year grace period to start, but after that, must release at least one album per year. To facilitate this, he's given a semi-fluent grasp of English, a valid U.S. ID, and everything he has on him, which consists of his tunic, sandals, lyre, and rations for a few days.

Everything else he has to find out or source on his own. His starting position is in an empty but otherwise standard alleyway in New York City, midnight sharp on January first. Needless to say, Orpheus is songlusted and will not stop pursuing his goal for anything other than his basic, biological needs. For the sake of fairness, a very minor enchantment is put over him so that his supernatural musical skill won't attract government or criminal attention- his struggle is purely against the Modern Music Industry.

Can Orpheus do the impossible a second time and pass this challenge, or is Eurydice doomed to linger in the lands of the dead?
