I am a month in. I have couple of questions.

Hi, everyone.

20M I got my tinnitus around a month ago, I was sitting on my chair, my right ear suddenly got blocked, it got unblocked after 2-3 hrs but ringing stayed. Went to the ENT, he said that i have otitis externa (i didn't feel almost any pain), he washed my ears and i was taking ear drops for a week. I actually felt that i had swelling in the right ear so otitis was probably a fact. I did hearing test - slight hearing loss in the right ear on 8KHz. Now I am ending taking betaserc tabs since one month.

First week was horrible, T was the only thing in my head, I cried and thought my life is over.

I quickly got to a point where most of the day I don't really think about it. I am aware that it might never go away, but I believe that if I am already able to ignore it I will get to a point where I fall asleep without thinking about it (hate using masking sounds for sleeping).

Now, ENT recommended MRI scan and after reading few comments on this sub I believe its not worth to take it and its time to stop wasting money. What do you think? Like it won't show anything helpful right?

The second question is - I would really love to go to a concert with my friends next week. Of course I will use ear protection, but I am really afraid of making it worse permanently. I already went to a cinema and it was pretty loud, I didn't use any ear protection and remember that I said its worse, but rn I would say it was just a spike... you can't really measure it. Am I risking anything by going to this concert?

I remember that day before i got my ear blocked I was listening to loud music in the car for like 30-60m. Is there a chance thats the reason? No way right? It wasn't the only time where I did that, but it was never really long drives.

Fun fact, I hear two tones, one is high pitched constant squeak in both ears and the other one is ringing in right (sick) ear, but i hear it only in silence.

I am really sorry for everyone and especially the ones with severe cases. Remember that life can be still enjoyable and its worth to live for these moments. I will be happy to answer any questions.
