Need guidance
I’m currently working as a Data Engineer with 6 months of experience. During training, I worked on Azure, PySpark, Databricks, and ETL pipeline development, which is the kind of technical work I actually want to do.
But after getting allocated to a project, most of my work has become writing SQL queries and building data pipelines for Power BI dashboards. My learning feels completely stagnant, and I’m mostly gaining business/domain knowledge, which honestly doesn’t interest me much.
The work pressure is also very high, and my manager rarely gives clear tasks or deadlines, which creates a lot of confusion and stress. Many times I feel lost and underconfident. I have been facing health issues and am not able to sleep at nights because of the constant anxiety since I am new to project. With the prospects of being released from the current project and not performing doesn't help either.
I want to switch, but with only 6 months of experience, it feels very difficult. Has anyone gone through something similar early in their career? Any advice would really help.
