Was observing and assisting in bending a 90 on 3" EMT today and this happened...
What could have caused this? Seemed like we had all the components placed properly and all of the correct sizes for the sled and hook... Sounded like a gunshot when it snapped. Expensive mistake, I didn't take the fall thankfully because it was my first time learning a hydraulic bender and I wasn't on the controls. Foreman thinks the shoe may have already had a hairline crack, but both him and the GF had never seen this happen before. The conduit was all f**ked up afterwards too.
