Update on grandma’s pan

Now that it’s cleaned up, I can see that it’s a G&S pan. Couldn’t find too much more info or the same pan except for a couple Etsy listings. I decided to hand sand some of it (I like how the seasoning looks even though it won’t stay golden bronze forever) and sand the cooking surface just enough to make the ridges less sharp. I have other pans that will remain dailies but I enjoyed the process as always and will hold onto it. It’s not an heirloom but it was my grandmas and that’s enough for me.

Is there a purpose for these ridges?

I don’t think I’ve stumbled upon a nice piece but I am curious if there could be any reason for these sharp grooves on the cooking surface. I’m cleaning the pan up now and am probably going to sand the bottom pretty smooth but I figured I’d see if you all had any idea of the idea purpose?
