Weather Information

Going through the ACS and I am on area three task C, weather information. Of course weather is a very lengthy subject and would need multiple ground lessons to cover everything. I am curious and looking for advice on how to approach this for the CFI initial checkride. The knowledge is mostly there for me, but figuring out what to teach/include and the right order is where I am struggling. I understand the ACS covers what needs to be taught but even then, I feel like it could last hours. And yes, I understand the examiner can select either K2 or K3 but has anyone had experience with this and how they taught it or were asked on their ride? TIA.

Navigation and Flight planning lesson

I’m trying to create an interactive lesson for this topic where myself and the student (DPE) will walk through a cross country and all the necessary info and more.

However, I’m finding this one difficult to teach and I’m not sure why. I understand all the fundamentals and such, but im stuck at a few things.

1: I plan to use ForeFlight and explain the sectional, plot with the foreflight tool and go from there. I do plan to use a paper nav log to help the student (DPE) understand where the numbers from ForeFlight are coming from and why it’s important to understand. My issue is I’m not sure how much of ForeFlight I should be using and how much I shouldn’t.

  1. I’m also having an issue with deciding how in depth to go on the performance charts and where/how/why we got our numbers. I’m curious as if I should be walking them through every calculation and using the e6b and such on this lesson. I understand those are important, I’m just curious as to how in depth of if people used ForeFlight how that went for them.

I’m feeling stuck on this one - it’s a lot of info and of course it’s tedious, I just want to teach it correctly and not have wayyy too much information. TIA

Runway Incursion Avoidance

Been studying and making my lesson on Runway Incursion Avoidance and have a question. When teaching “airport markings, signs and lights to include the importance of Hold short lines”, how in depth are yall going with airport markings and lights specifically? all the signs make sense to me, and I know the markings and lights are equally important but did you guys talk about every single thing? TIA.
