Landed a role in Embedded Systems, but looking to pivot.
Hey everyone, I am soon to graduate with an undergraduate degree in computer engineering from a T20. Luckily I was able to land a role from a career fair with a defense prime doing embedded systems work, but due to the location being less than ideal, as well as the salary being on the lower end compared to other niches of software, I've been thinking about changing my focus to be something else. I've been looking at a lot of different roles and want to do either Site Reliability Engineering or Distributed Systems Infrastructure Engineering. I've got a good grasp on fundamentals of low level things and was pretty hardware focused throughout undergrad, even taking a few VLSI courses in addition to computer architecture and operating systems, but I want to level up my resume and build it to land roles in these niches, so if anyone has any tips on what to learn, projects to build, etc. that would be great.
