How to keep a front taper down on curly hair?

I’ve been doing a front taper for a few weeks now and I like it but an issue I’ve run into is after I comb the hairs down and spray them in place to line myself up, the next day they just curl back up. It doesn’t look bad but… I mean it looks higher and uneven because of the curls. Is there a product I could use for o have a better hold? Should I blow dry my taper?

Do I need an even line?

I gave myself a front taper and had to part my hair like a half inch up from my natural line. Because of that the preexisting part looks a little crooked but I don’t wear my hair up. Should I even the part out and fad my hair higher? Will not doing so mess up my overall hairstyle in the future?

High taper - any tips?

Been self barbering for around a year now. Letting my hair grow out in the back so to go from a high fade to a high taper. I’m blending it into my fro with a 2 guard lever open and flicking out for now. On the sides is a 1 blending into my fro. It’s a little high but that’s how I like it. My left side (pics 1 and 4) always seems to cut less hair and I ALWAYS have problems blending the guidelines but I think it’s because the hair on that side is just… less? So I cut lower to achieve the same affect as on my right side. Any tips for the cut overall?
