I fell in love sailing a sunfish one summer in Floribama. Maybe a few years from now I will move back to having a 40ish foot sailboat, but for now I am inland in Houston. I am surrounded by lakes and not that far from Texas City and have been floating the idea of getting a sunfish for some fun simple sailing. Does anyone have any experience of hauling one with a sedan?

The primary challenges I see are:

1: Is a sunfish wet, too much weight to put on the roof a sedan?

2: I am a young male and somewhat physically competent, but what is the process of getting a sunfish up on car going to look like? (even possible with one person?)

3: What equipment will be required if 1 and 2 are possible? Roof-rack obviously, but rollers, some kind of wrap or foam for the hull, a container for the sails?

If this question has been asked before I apologize and feel free to redirect me to the sub.
