I wanna shred tall freshly pulled weeds, will a leaf shredder do the job?

What the title says. I want to do more self-mulching to make my cold piles smaller because real composting is a little out of my zone. I do not care one bit about the seeds because there is no escaping them ANYWAY.

Leaf shredders they expect dry, brown leaves. I'm in Florida, zone 9b.
What can pulverize weeds like the needle daisies and other light vegetative matter that I let get tall? I'm not as quick as I used to be and the guy that cuts the turf respects my bed borders. I'd like to get a stick/branch shredder too but I dunno if that's supposed to take softer materials either. If a third machine is required for the soft weeds I might just start piling them up for the truck to take away again.

Thank you in advance!
