Dashcam story time, who was my partner in little revenge

I moved to Ukraine while ago for my studies, I got a job here and now I'm settled. When I came here I had to adjust as there many issues such as, language barrier, then missing your family and friends and making new friends was a task for me. But I tried to overcome it with the passage of time now I'm kindaa settled here. When I got a job I moved to the new apartment, solely for myself as I don't wanna share my apartment with anyone that was a promise that I made to myself.

Right now, I live in one of the older apartment buildings in Solomyanka. Parking is a huge mess here; everyone is competing for spaces. Some unwritten rules are that whoever has lived there longest. They are somehow allowed to leave aggressive notes on windscreens occasionally. Idk if it’s normal or not, but that’s part of my daily routine here.

Fast forward to last autumn, when my car was getting scratched, not badly, but deliberate scratches, along the door. The kind that only happens when someone runs a key slowly and with the intention of metal along. happened four times over six months. I had a suspicion but no proof. I had a dispute about parking placement months earlier that ended the way these things do, unresolved, with both parties pretending it was.

But I was so furious, yet I wanted proof of who was doing it and why, and deep down I knew who it was, but your intuition wants proof. I put my car in parking mode. Then I installed a dashcam. The little dashcam stayed on when the engine was off. I didn't tell anyone.

The third night after I set it up, I had footage. I knocked on the door the next morning with my phone. I didn't say much. I showed the video. I asked once if they wanted to discuss it before I decided what to do with the footage.

They paid for the bodywork, all of it. Four months of scratches, fixed. We don't speak now. I think that's probably fine.
