What are some of the worst examples of rules lawyering you've witnessed?

I think I've realised I've heard more complaints about rules lawyering than actual examples of what rules lawyers have done. So that leads me to this question asking for examples.

EDIT: This quote by Puffin Forest encapsulates what a rules lawyer is:

"When you think about a lawyer, when people complain about lawyers, they are just saying whatever they have to say to get what they want. They don't actually care about the rules at all."

EDIT: This quote by Gygax is similar but different

"It is the spirit of the game, not the letter of the rules which is important. Never hold to the letter written, nor allow some barracks room lawyer to force quotations from the rule books upon you, if it goes against the obvious intent of the game. As you hew the line with respect to conformity to major systems and uniformity of play in general, also be certain the game is mastered by you and not by your players."
