Engineering in Spain
My wife likes to say how she wants to move to Spain because we’ve been there a couple of times and she’s enjoyed it. I tell her that isn’t an option because I wouldn’t be able to continue my career and I would have to get another job other than engineering which I do not plan on doing. I’m almost a 3 yr EIT, plan on taking my PE test in a couple of months so I can get licensed next year.
I can’t help but think how impractical this would be and I am completely against it. From what little research I’ve done they would prefer to not have to do an international hire, especially one that is not fluent in their language. We are in our early 30’s, bought a house with a 3.7% rate back in 2021. We are kind of sitting pretty right now with a nice outlook ahead. Please provide some advice on the matter, am I just being unreasonable? I enjoy it over there as well, but just don’t think it would be a good idea in reality.
