Cause for engine pressure to pop seals?
2016 Chevrolet Malibu 1.5L Turbo.
The front crankshaft seal was leaking, we replaced it with an aftermarket seal from National. One week later the seal started leaking again. This time, we replaced it with a GM original seal and installed a new front crankshaft pulley. One week later the seal started leaking, again. We replaced it a third time with a GM OE part and it leaked again a week later.
It turns out the engine was building too much internal pressure, pushing the seal out of position, and causing it to leak.
What could cause that?
