Need opinions: contrasting kitchen island vs matching everything
We're considering updating only the kitchen island so it stands out from the perimeter cabinets/countertops. Right now everything matches, but I’m thinking about:
Using Quartz (instead of the Santa Cecilia Granite)(the perimeter granite would remain)
Painting the island a different color than the perimeter cabinet. We are thinking of a dark grey like SW Iron Ore.
If you’ve done this, are you happy with it long term?
If not quartz, are there other countertop materials you recommend? Same with color?
