Got the UCS N-1 Starfighter today
Got the UCS N-1 Starfighter today and I’m pretty happy about it 😊
Small disclaimer before the comments: I’m not opening it. Going into the sealed collection, the box itself looks great enough on the shelf.
What I really like about this set is the backstory. Designer César Soares had a tricky problem because LEGO doesn’t have parts at the exact wing angle of the N-1. So instead of forcing it, he just lets gravity do the work. The wings naturally droop into the right shape with small supports underneath. Pretty clever solution.
Also nice to see those silver drum-lacquered pieces. Most UCS sets these days are just grey on grey, so this one stands out a bit more. Still, part of me wishes we got the classic yellow Episode I version. Maybe one day.
Fun fact, this is the first UCS Naboo fighter since 2002. Worth the wait in my opinion. Anyone else got it today?
