[Six Flags New England] Trip Report- What Could Be
It’s a pretty known sentiment that SFNE is top heavy with their collection. I found that to be the truth. My first trip ever here- I have some thoughts.
Superman The Ride (3x)- 10/10. My new #1 out of over 100 credits including some typical #1s such as Steel Vengeance, The Voyage, and Fury 325 (I’ll check out El Toro and SFGAdv later this summer). I lifted my legs when restraints were being pushed down, gave myself some room. Didn’t have a huge issue with them like some people. Perfect mix of intensity and just being pure fun.
Wicked Cyclone (2x)- 7/10. Pretty good RMC. A little much for me to be honest. Very intense elements. First ride I got stuck on the brake run and they gave us 5 fast lanes for it (without those we would’ve left… get to that later)
Riddler’s Revenge (1x)- 4/10. No head banging, but still janky.
Batman TDK (1x)- 5/10. Meh.
Joker 4D (1x)- 6/10. Nothing insane but unpopular opinion I love these things.
Also did Blizzard River and Houdini ride, both fun.
Didn’t do quantum, our fast lanes excluded it and wait was about an hour, no thanks.
Overall, the park was decently charming, pretty small in footprint, okay theming.
The real problem with this place is… as most people know… the operations.
Started with day with Superman on one train on a Sunday, closed it after about an hour to add the second one on. Thunderbolt on 1 train. Everything else might as well have been.
These ops are CONSISTENTLY bad. 2-3+ minute dispatches on everything. Including wicked cyclone and the dark knight, both of which should be able to move pretty quickly. It’s not that lines were ridiculously long, it’s just that they moved SO very slow.
Final thoughts for the park? 6/10. Mid tier Cedar Flags park. I’d put it maybe just below worlds of fun but just above St. Louis. The operations really kill what would be a great park otherwise.
How to fix the park? Clean up the ops. Faster dispatches would work wonders here. Clean! Get a power washer, something I don’t know; the place is just generally kind of nasty. Lots of trash around. Repaints to ride stations and buildings would help too. Finally, it does need some ride help. I understand quantum accelerator as family rides are the big thing right now, but this place desperately needs a stand out woodie from GCI or GG, and a high-thrill launch coaster OR a unique feeling ride (flyer, wing, surf, etc).
A “meh” park with a complete gem in Superman (though it deserves better ops).
