What are my chances and what do I need to do?
I am finishing 10th grade. my top choice would be to go to Georgetown (SFS). I think I would like a career at the IMF or World Bank But I am open to learning about other options I have hosted a foreign exchange student and visited the student the following summer in France.
I go to a very small religious school. No AP designated classes but I am taking some AP tests this year and next.
courses this year:
Honors English, Honors American history, honors theology, honors chemistry, honors calculus I, honors Spanish II. My SAT score from the one time I took it in 9th grade was a 1250. (I think this will improve by at least 100 points.)
So far, I am pretty fluent at conversational French. I have done one high school independent study but my school does not offer French. I convinced a Lebanese priest to offer me an Arabic independent study course starting this month and through next year.
I hope my tiny religious school doesn’t hurt my chances. My main EC is I dance classical ballet 15-18hrs/week and I work a summer job as a lifeguard.
Thank you for your input and advice. ETA: I really appreciate any input since my school also does not have a college counselor.
