Memorial cherry blossom tree advice
A bit of a sensitive post, but we lost our baby daughter in April and we would like to bury some of her ashes with a cherry blossom tree so that it will be in bloom around the anniversary of her passing for years to come.
We moved into an older house last year and the garden still needs a considerable amount of work so I am reluctant to pick a spot to put the tree in the ground at the moment. Is there a smaller version of the tree that would survive well in a pot for a few years and if so which would you recommend?
What conditions would help the tree thrive the best?
I see conflicting information online on proximity to the house as well once the tree is in the ground - given the sentimental value of the tree I would never want it to be planted somewhere where the roots might encroach and it eventually needs to be cut down.
All advice would be very appreciated, thank you.
