Advice from LEO?
Hey all, I was working for a sheriffs department in California and was in the academy about to graduate when suddenly I was let go. I had all passing scores and everything and was 2 weeks away from graduation but dropped. I wasn’t told anything by the sheriffs department but that I was no longer a good fit for the department and that if I wanted to I could apply again. I’ve applied to other agencies and some have me on eligibility lists and some have non selected me. After speaking to a couple helpful recruiters and background investigators I was told that my conduct was brought into question and that I had inappropriate behavior or comments about a female and that was the reason I was dropped. This was a shock to me because I can’t talk to women so I definitely didn’t do or say anything to a female and my comments about girls are only ever to male friends and it’s only “oh I think she’s pretty”. I was told that I should take at least a year away and apply after said year but I’m scared that this will take longer than a year for something I did not do. I’m a good person and only ever wanted to help people and I feel like I’ve been targeted and my dream career was stripped from me simply because some people didn’t like me for some reason. Anyone have any advice or next steps for me to take?
