Business Analyst - is their only role to influence stakeholders
I’m a contractor and the last 2 projects I’ve been on I’ve been hired by a business analyst already in the business.
Although, I’ve found they believe their job is to influence stakeholders and refuse to do any traditional business analysis work. They don’t know the business processes and seem to get annoyed when I ask them.
I get the feeling they don’t do much business analysis and do more managing up, or gossiping it seems like.
Both projects have been behind schedule before I joined which is large done because none of the typical analysis done, in 1 project the change manager was doing the business analysis.
I’m pretty flexible, although it’s frustrating that i seem to be hired to do the job they should have done months ago.
