I’m currently working in a contract-based WFH role as a , earning around ₹50K/month, and I’ve been here for about 2.5 months. The pay is good and I’m comfortable, but the role is more customer support–oriented and not core tech, so I’m unsure about its long-term stability and career growth. Some seniors here have stayed 1–2 years and are earning significantly more, even comparable to experienced IT professionals, but the job itself doesn’t build strong development skills. On the other hand, I have an opportunity to join TCS as an Associate Software Engineer/Trainee with a much lower salary (~₹22K/month) and relocation, but it would put me directly into the tech industry. I’m confused between continuing in a higher-paying but less secure/non-dev role vs switching to a lower-paying but potentially more stable long-term tech career. What would you suggest?
