Guide of ROC'04 Bian. (Uncle Buffalo and Long Live Independence! )

Hello guys, as I see there are only a few guides for ROC'04 Bian uploaded to the wiki trail, so I will try to start making some of the guides. However, I don’t know why I don’t have permission to upload directly to the website. Therefore, I will upload these guides here. If you have permission, you are welcome to upload them to the website; just credit my Reddit name. Today’s guides are “Uncle Buffalo” and “Long Live Independence!”

Visit: All in Taipei County

  1. We have only one best card. Taiwan's history, culture, memory... they cannot be forgotten, they cannot be overlooked, they cannot be obscured. By recognizing more indigenous peoples, connecting the bloodline of Taiwanese people with the roots of Austronesian peoples, this will strengthen Taiwan's subjective consciousness.

  2. Opposing China is something everyone agrees on. I have a good relationship with the Dalai Lama… I maintain good ties with those who enrage the Communist Party. I’ve heard that the Taiwan-Tibet Exchange Foundation is about to be established, and of course, I’ll be there to make an appearance and deliver some speeches.

  3. We are far from the era of martial law, but some things still linger in our legal system and practices. Can you imagine that today’s military is still using the 1950 Wartime Military Law regulations? Basically, any crime under these regulations is punishable by death. It’s outrageous. We will push for their abolition.

  4. The Executive Yuan should react immediately. Premier You Si-kun will promptly issue several strong administrative orders. Since the infection will inevitably spread, we must limit it to the smallest possible extent. Immediately integrate the resources of all hospitals to overcome this difficulty together!

  5. Taipei City is now too dangerous. The Executive Yuan should fully cooperate with the Taipei City Government. As the national capital and transportation hub, Taipei City may have a high risk of infection. We must start implementing home quarantine now!

  6. This is truly a terrifying combination, but we cannot be intimidated. As the incumbent president, I hold all the power and the future and hope of the Taiwanese people. If Lien Chan is elected, the CCP will wantonly bully and oppress Taiwan, and by then, it will be too late for us to cry!

  7. The CCP, everything they do is to harm Taiwan. Six hundred missiles are aimed at Taiwan, ready to kill our people and destroy our land. They didn't even respond to our legitimate requests for help during the SARS crisis! We have nothing to say to Beijing; it will only turn us into an international orphan!

  8. We will meet with Taipei County Magistrate Su Tseng-chang. Taipei County is a populous area with a large number of pan-green voters. Let’s hold campaign events in places like Luzhou and Sanchong to strengthen our support in the north!

  9. As the saying goes, to cut the grass, you must remove the roots. The Kuomintang's vast party assets cannot be eliminated overnight, but we can use this as political capital. If we win the election and control of the Legislative Yuan, I will vow to take action against the Kuomintang's illicit assets to achieve social justice!

  10. Let You Ying-long handle it himself. We cannot abandon our daily government duties and efforts to strengthen support in other areas just for him. We won’t go to Hualien to avoid wasting time, as he has no chance of being elected.

  11. Taiwan and China, one country on each side. We must remind the entire nation of this ironclad fact. Our independence and subjectivity cannot be buried, while the KMT still wants to go back to the old path of Chinese nationalism, which means regression and reaction!

  12. Of course, we need Lee Teng-hui’s official support and endorsement, don’t we? If Lee Teng-hui comes out to support me, I will gain additional backing from both centrist and localist voters! After all, he is a great figure. And if he refuses… well, we know his secrets.

  13. Is this person insane? Why are we even considering something like this without a referendum law in place? Good grief—the Secretary-General, in his hubris, thinks that a referendum can turn things around, but the Kuomintang can easily veto our proposal. We won’t stand a chance! Stop bringing this up.

  14. The extreme independence faction wants some excitement? Fine, we’ll give them something exciting. In 2006, I will push for a new constitution for Taiwan and break free from the shackles of the Republic of China system! Long live Taiwan independence, forever and ever.

  15. Only face‑to‑face engagement can secure our diplomatic stability. I’ll visit Panama, —a strategically situated ally—and transit through the United States, which might boost our diplomatic credentials.

  16. If we don’t elevate Taiwanese women’s status, the DPP has no purpose. This Legislative Yuan passed the Sexual Harassment Prevention Act and the Gender Equality in Employment Act—legislation even the KMT supported.

  17. The people love political reform; that’s why I was elected in 2000. We’ve already drained the rotten swamp left by the KMT, but we need four more years to finish the job. Our slogan: “Trust Taiwan, keep reforming!”

  18. There are far too many vested interests in this country. The military officers, civil servants, and teachers left over from the KMT era still enjoy an 18% preferential deposit rate—costing our government dearly! That burden ends in the next term. We will return those benefits to the people!

  19. We need to be careful... We can’t be like the KMT, greedy for economic benefits while being stubborn. We admit to this matter and announce that we will no longer hold those stocks... We’re withdrawing from all trading.

  20. There are many Minnan-dominated communities in the north, and this is the most populous area, so we certainly cannot ignore it. From Taipei City’s Shilin-Datong District to areas like Tamsui and Sanzhi in New Taipei, these will be our battlegrounds. We will appear alongside Su Tseng-chang!

  21. This is a new era. We must update our campaign tactics. Produce VCDs and TV segments that attack Lien Chan’s wealth—and don’t forget to include his running mate, Song Chu‑yu! Neither of them is squeaky clean. Post everything on our campaign website as well.

  22. In that case, it would benefit us rather than harm us. Single-member districts tend to drive a two-party system to extremes… Clearly, the KMT and PFP would fracture over this, while the DPP would emerge as one of the two dominant parties. Of course we should back it.

  23. What we need is entertainment at rallies. Anyone who comes to our events will be swept up in the energy and become a DPP supporter. Unlike the stodgy KMT, we’ll bring in ‘promo girls’—eye-catching beauties to captivate the youth!

  24. Chen Youhao is a wanted criminal—who’d believe a word he says? And every year he pays NT$2–3 billion in taxes to China. To Beijing he’s one of their ‘Top Ten Taxpayers,’ yet here he’s dodging taxes—an economic criminal living it up overseas like some ‘political refugee’?

  25. Had there been no transfer of power, those ‘black‑gold’ kingpins would never have fled abroad. Today they’d still be by the side of Mr. Lien and Mr. Song—people like Wu Zeyuan, Liang Boxun, Chen Youhao, or Zhu Wanqing. We simply can’t imagine it any other way!

  26. Under KMT rule, public university tuition rose 4% per year, private 3%. We cut those to 3% and 0.04%, respectively, easing burdens. Student‐loan rates fell from 8% to 2.925%. These measures directly help Taiwan’s families.

  27. Mr. Lien just mentioned character traits—ours simply aren’t the same. Coming from my background, I’m aggressive and relentless in the fight. I urge all compatriots: each of us is are 'Sons of Formosa'.

  28. Lien Chan’s family scandals keep making headlines. It’s time to bring them up again… First leak rumors to the media until it’s a public talking‑point, then we—DPP—jump in to highlight the domestic‑violence allegations!

  29. Miaoli… the toughest leg of our hand‑in‑hand march. Rugged mountain roads, hard to gather crowds. We must pour our energy here—Miaoli will be headquarters for our Hand‑in‑Hand event!

  30. Central public opinion flows like water. Overwhelm Lien Chan in Changhua, Taichung, and Nantou, and victory could be ours. Pour every resource into these counties now!

  31. ......

  32. We must stabilize the tense political situation! We will call on all Taiwanese to calm down—our people must not tear each other apart or inflict harm over internal disagreements!

  33. What the DPP needs most is gender balance. A woman… an educated woman—she will be our first choice.

  34. This government’s vision for Taiwan’s future is correct. As Premier, I did much—visiting rural and mountain areas, helping spur economic growth and recovery. How can the KMT attack that record?

  35. I know my position is shaky. In fact, many DPP factions doubt my leadership and only backed me for lack of a better challenger. So here’s a shocker: I will not seek re-election in 2008. If I lose, let them face Lien and Song on their own—no more use of executive power to help them!

  36. Oh my god. Even if the Americans won’t endorse our candidate, they don’t have to go this far, right? We must go back to A-Bian’s comfortable ‘four noes and one without’ pledge…then once elected, we can discuss deeper independence.

  37. …The people of Taiwan will not tolerate a return to authoritarianism or the KMT’s corrupt “black gold” politics. I urge everyone to stand firmly with the Democratic Progressive Party and with me, You Si-kun. I will keep fighting for the people of Taiwan and continue to safeguard our nation!
