Hi everyone! I’m getting back into creative writing after an extensive break and I've noticed a massive shift in the discussion around writing and technology. By the way, I work in a field where technology has changed significantly over the years—I’m an architect, and I’ve seen how digital tools (like CAD or BIM) shifted our workflow, much like digital renders vs. traditional hand-drafting.
I entirely understand the backlash against generative AI taking over human storytelling, or flooding platforms with low-effort content. Writing is deeply personal, and a story’s soul comes from the human creator but I am currently looking for ways to enhance my own writing, specifically using AI as a "technical assistant" for grammar, research, and structure, rather than generating the story itself. I want to improve my craft and write original stories, but I’m wary of the backlash.
I’m really just looking to understand the community standards as I return to the craft. I want to make sure my voice stays 100% human and authentic while keeping my grammar clean! Thanks in advance for the advice.
