Question about running the 200 - stay inside or middle of the lane?

I watched Noah Lyles' video on running the 200 and he said to always stay in the middle of the lane, but surely this means you're running further than if you stayed on the inside of the lane? That's why starts are staggered. You are covering more distance than necessary. Would it be optimal to stay in the inside of your lane but work on not stepping into the lane next to you? You're technically running less distance.

Male, 13, 200m runner with a time of 24.87. Looking for local comps

I’m 13 and male, (under 13 school group but 14 athletics age group) and run the 200m in 24.87. I’m looking for some local comps to enter to compete in this. I live in bookham, Surrey. I want to take my sprinting to the next level with the comps, but all seem to be far away, late in the evening or not have the 200m. any suggestions or help would be much appreciate. thank you!
