I took a job I don’t normally take, when I accepted I didn’t look closely and just assumed that there was at least 1 drop-in a day booked. I require it on my profile, because I’ve had way to many issues with cats that are booked for less than that. After the meet and greet I realized he only booked it for every 3 days. The cats only eat a kibble diet, sometimes that increases the risk for urinary issues, and they’re only getting checked on every 3 days so they’re super stressed.

Anyway, they started peeing with a high PH. I only know this because he uses pretty litter, I haven’t seen it before so I’m not super sure how it works. My last drop-in is in 3 days and he doesn’t want me to check on them before then. But he wants me to take them to the vet, even though he’ll be back the same day my drop-in ends. Do I have to cover the visit or does he? I checked with rover and the guy made it sound like sitters aren’t responsible for illness, just injury, but the client hasn’t offered to pay for the visit. I just wanted to check and see what other sitters would do in this situation.
